In the NZ Jeep club the founder got told by his new wife to empty out his garage and get rid of a Jeep
He rafiled it out and I won it
I was told it was "complete" and the body in resnible shape:)

The Back guards were full of rust the bonnet full of bondo and the wrong engine mounts on the chassis:mad:

Well Ive had the CJ4 for 2 years now slowly chuging away at it and it was all good till a few weeks ago
I got the body back on and went to turn her over and shes sezied up
Im looking at buying a rolled XJ and puting the engine and running gear into the CJ

Good luck on your build. Nice pictures also.

You must be lucky to win a Jeep.

Got pics of the fenders? I only know of one CJ4 known to exist, they were never a production model.

What motor from a Cherokee were you planning on using? An inline 6 will not work without extensive modification.

Good luck with it... looks better then what I started with R)

    It should be a mahindra.

  7. sammy

    sammy Coca-Cola?

Got a mahindra tractor at the range. I can't get that thing to die so if a Jeep is like it, heck yeah! So it's like a CJ5 with a 2A tub on it??

So if the wrong motor mounts were on the chassis, then it might be feasible the motor has been swapped out? What size engine, and do the XJ's have the same drivetrain?
You've got your work cut out! :stout::stout::stout:

  9. evanjm

evanjm Yeah, it's got an F-head.

the Mahindra CJ4 is basically a CJ-3B, usually found with one of their diesel motors in it. They even made LWB models based off the CJ-3B body style.

If I remember correctly, I believe these "3Bs" cough.. CJ-4s are still being made today.

It is a mahindra and they stopped making them in '96 Im told

The original motor mounts are back in it
It has a f-head in it with 3b drive train Im not sure about the diffs though
I was looking at a inline 6 for it but I cant afford one I went to the damaged vehicle auctions ant there was a very badly damaged XJ there but engine and drive train where sweet but it went for $200 above my budget

I might get some pics up this weekend of it with the gaurds and bonnet on

Just a unrelated question where do you upload your pics to other then the forum?

    mb82 I feel great!

Hmmm never thought to do that. Maybe my F-head would have been salvageable if I did that.

    Thanks guys
Im now having the problem of trying to fire her up but no spark
I think Ive put the ground wire from the coil in wrong cause Ive tried 2 different coils 2 diferent sets of leads replaced the plugs and all the dizzy internals and cap but no spark
Ive seen on the 3B website it says to hook it up to the dizzy but there are no details into were to put it and of all the photos no ones showing it
Sadly I dont have a photo of the coke coming out of the cylinders ether
