Congrats on the success! X2 on the hood latches. 10 minutes work will save you some grief and a dented hood and maybe a busted windshield. :)

That's great. Looks like alot of time went into that rebuild.

I am almost finished with my build, but I am waiting anxiously on the first drive.

thanks for the replies, I have been waiting for my new media blasting cabinet to do the hood latches - no excuse there but I knew I would not be leaving the parking lot or going more than 10 mph. Can't believe it finally runs - yes I feel great

    Nice!

    No hold down hooks?R)
Just slip the hood off if you still have the hood hinges with the slots in them.
Any trouble putting on the newer style windshield?

No hooks - it was just a test and never intended anything else - been a LOOOOOOOnng build - had to do it

Newer style windsheild sliped into the same hinges - after of course putting a couple weeks into salvaging the origonal one - still have it - just wanted to see the "Look" - I like the over the head wiper look better - I dig antique stuff. But, I plan on doing an overhead control unit / sound bar/ strio radio thing like this Overhead sterio console

sooo... - I needed the space up front to be clear of wiper motors

When I built the front part of the cage I placed the middle headers far enough apart so I could mount the cb radio between them. The front bar goes across with a quarter inch or so of clearance above the wiper motors (top-mounted). I can still lay down the windshield if I want. Or remove it, I still have the notched hinges for the hood and the windshield.

That is a nice looking overhead though. Are you putting the top back on, too?R):coffee::hurrican:
