If you're talking about those long Harrisons, there was an article on the web about some guy rebuilding one. Seems like he mentioned a specific Chevy heater motor that went right in, but I might be wrong.

Was that on the CJ3B page, or Doc Vern's? He went through the whole rebuilding process, IIRC.

Oh, you can go to a NAPA store and ask to browse their electric motor catalog. They carry a bunch, you might find a match. I, unfortunately, could not. My heater is a different style, but also a Harrison. I spent large bucks to have them rebuilt, it uses two motors. They both run good, but it remains to be seen how well the whole thing will work.

I assume you mean this kind?

I have this one....I just need to paint a couple more parts and reassemble it. The core is rebuilt, but mighty thin. At least it'll look good! This was a freebie from Clay.

Ron mine looks like the freebie from clay, but mine does not have the exterior fan motor. 6 volt?12 volt? i got the little motor out of the middle, took it apart, cleaned it up, but i am having trouble getting it keep running. it starts slowing down after 20-30 seconds. thanks for your time

The external blower is the defroster. Not really sure what the heater is originally made for, but it says Willys on it and Clay took it out of a '56 CJ5, so that's good enough for me!

Definitely 6 volt, motors are probably non-existant. I sure couldn't find any, it's a little bitty thing. There were other round Willys heaters from that era too.

thanks rondog, mine has a port with a little cover screwed over it where the defroster would go. i saw one just like it in a 55 willys truck. i was thinkin about putting the orig fan on a '69 htr motor. the motors turn the opposite way, so it could be mounted with the motor sticking out the back (of the heater) and the fan in the orig location. but then the unit is way too far into the pass feet. a 3 inch hole in the firewall would solve that problem but that's kinda a sin so.....hmmm......thanks again
