My dad has a '67 Jeepster with 59,000 original miles. Motor was just professionally rebuilt by a reputable shop "225". New motor has about 1000 miles (at most) on it.
Replaced Pitman arm bushing, running gear in good shape. Body has pretty bad cancer in the bottom, along door jams, and quarter panels and some on inside fender wells. ( It was a beach rig!!!)
Other than that, it's in ok shape, and a good runner. He is just wondering what the approximate value of it would be, considering the body work that would need to be done to restore it.
Just ask if you need more info about specifics. Don't know much about jeepsters, but will do my best to answer any questions.

    Thanks for any input.

    Here is a good start
    http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20325

Looknig at it, it does have the considerable commando rust issues. It is worth a little more i would think because it is a convertible, not just a wagon, and if it has all the parts, that is a goodthing since it is pretty hard to find a compelte convertible setup.

Dunno...it apparently has some sort of odd radiation issue that degrades the facial skin of all occupants. I'd think that would decrease the value considerably...R)

It's pretty varied depending on where you live.

Using Ebay I would say try for 4000.00
but you will have to settle for less.
I would really think anything over 2500.00 would be a good sell.

it has value as a convertable.
    but for a collector,
it would have to be completly redone.

A wheeler who wouldnt need to completely restore wouldnt pay that much.

Ebay would get most exposure to the right person.

    IMHO

The true convertible (vs. the roadster) is pretty rare... and I use that word sparingly. However, as noted above, it's got some rust issues, so it won't fetch top dollar as it is. You might get lucky and connect with the right buyer, but most buyers won't be willing to put the work and money into it that it needs.

Yeah, I'd think eBay with a high reserve would be the place to start. Rick's numbers seem about right. You might connect with the right buyer right away, or it might take a while, or it may never happen. A lot depends on how long you can wait to find the right buyer.

I just paid 4k for my wagon version 70, but it has minimal rust issues, and it came with a donor 67 as well. PO had installed a 4" lift, with 12.50 33s and new wheels. He also threw in a brand new soft top, along with the hard top and a bikini. Your convertible is the first one that I have seen on this forum or on ebay though... I would think that Patrick may be right, but I think it's certainly worth $2500- if you were closer, I would use my donor and your commando, and make one really nice jeepster.

I have the production numbers somewhere... IIRC there were only a very few thousand convertibles produced, with the continental kit and the fold-down top with the cowl (?) across the back. Many, many fewer than any other style. The half-cab production was low too, but not like the convertible. Most were roadsters (open, fitted with an aftermarket soft top) or wagons (full hard top).

They are rare, but I think the demand isn't great. Jeeps willl never pull in the big money like some of the popular passenger cars.

Now, if it were a bullnose convertible, that would really be something! R)
