Does anyone know if there are spacer that goes between the brake line to the wheel cylinder. I have installed new stainless classic tube steel brake lines and new Wagner wheel cylinders and had my mechanic bleed and adjust the brake system. He cannot get the rears to stop leaking where the line enters the wheel cylinder. He seems to think there is a spacer that goes between the two. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Nope, no spacer with the stock setup. I had a similar issue when I bought pre-bent steel lines for my flatty, I ended up using my double-flare tool to re-crimp the flares and it all sealed up after that.

Do you think if they are reflared it will fix the problem? What kind of lines did you have and will it be long enough if its reflared?

You don't want to cut the line, all you want to do is re-press the flare to make sure it is even all the way around. And yes, it fixed my problem. ;)

When I upgraded the '71 to rear 11" drums/new cylinders, I had a similar problem. Took awhile to figure out...

...the seat in the new cylinders was deeper... made for a slightly longer fitting. The stock fitting would bottom out on the hex before the flare would seat. It took me awhile to figure out why it kept leaking...I fixed this by replacing the stock lines from the junction box with some new lines from FLAPS... they came with the ends flared and the larger fitting.

You might want to check to see if Classic Tube used the older factory fittings and if your new wheel cylinders require the newer slightly longer fitting.

    HTH, good luck!!
