I have a chance to purchase a very clean 72 cj5 tub for next to nothing. Obviously there are some differences between the years of 62 to 72 and so I ask for help. What other changes did jeep make besides longer front fenders/hood to clear the i6. I believe the 72 doesn't have a pass. storage compartment below the seat. Are the body mounts in the same locations? Are the frame rails the same width apart/bent in the same manner? Thanks for the help!:JEEP:

No, the toolbox ended in 1976. Lots of changes for the '76 model year, not so many in '72.

A '72 tub will be essentially the same as a '62 except for the "JEEP" lettering and various holes (filler neck etc) and brackets. It should drop right on your frame and line up. Same frame width.

The '72 tub is designed for hanging pedals. If you want to keep your thru-the-floor pedals you'll have to cut some holes.
Or convert the '62 to hanging pedals.

Gas cap hole will be in passenger side rear instead of under the driver's door opening.
