Ford front brakes

    'Does anybody have a picture of the 11"drum Ford front brakes. I am trying to figure which side is which.:?:rofl:

    can you post a pic of what you have? Might be able to tell you by looking at your pics.

    not exactly what you need, but it should point you in the right direction. I already had this in my photobucket account for another forum...

    BTW the longer shoe goes to the rear....

    After posting this question in several sites, and sitting down and figuring out how it is all supposed to work, I was able to figure out which side was which. The adjuster hole goes behind the center line of the axle. Also the left hand threaded adjuster goes on the right side.
    I will post pictures when I get it all assembled.

    Note: The primary shoe has a shorter lining than the secondary shoe.
    It is possible to switch them. I found my rear Shoes and backing plate on backwards. They were put on by a Vocational School Auto shop. Ran it that way for years before I found it. :rofl:

    Yes you are correct the shorter shoe is the primary. I have actually seen both primary shoes on one side of the axle and the secondary shoes on the other side of the same axle.
    I don't believe ASE cert tests even ask how to identify the primary and secondary shoes any more.
