Finally swapped in the shiny rebuilt 4.88 rear today.
    It's a whole different Jeep...
I'll swap in the front this week or this weekend...

Hey Jim, we better be careful or Patrick will be out-blinging us! :D

I'd call hoonage, if I knew what that meant.

Hoonage: Aggressively flogging a car, but in a manner that stops just short of reckless.

Taking that turn sideways at 60 miles per hour? That's some serious hoonage.

Got the front put in today. This is a D25. Regression you say? I don't know. The housing is from an M38. Much beefier looking with more webbing than the 27, and definitely moreso than other 25's I've seen. Larger ring gear than a 27, same bearing journals, tube diameter, etc. It has 27 axleshafts, hubs and wheel bearings, and spindle studs installed. I just used my original 10" brakes for now. Has a drain plug, and Dad installed a vent in the top. All new bearings, seals, and ring & pinion.

    Saweet!

I doubt that you'll ever notice a difference between the 25/27, other than the 4.88's. :driving:

Today I got the speedo gears (drive and driven) replaced, so my speedo is off the same as it was before (due to the 33's).
Also got the rear vent run up inside the rear fenderwell, and the front vent tied in with the trans./ transfer case vents, which run into a small K&N filter up by the battery.
And, I installed these phansy Snap On transfer case shifter knobs...
