I assumed that these 11" brakes were from an early 70's cj (I'm getting a lot of surprises with this thing!), but none of the replacement parts seem to match. Can you guys give me a hand? I searched for quite a while, but couldn't come up with a pic.

Any suggestions on next steps? These are the fronts, and I haven't yet torn apart the rears.

    Thanks!

Just got done pulling the rear drums. They look identical to the fronts. At least I'm clueless about four that match!!

'62 would have 9" stock, IIRC.

Right you are! But these are 11"x2" off something else, and I want to keep them as 11" drums all around. I need to know what these are so I can buy cylinders/shoes/hardware.

    Thanks!

Hmmm, 11" drums, cam-style adjusters and no parking brake. I'm thinking a 50's Willys wagon or pickup?

I think you're right! I called Herm, and he actually said they were most common in the wagons. He also said that given the small size of the cylinders, they weren't much better than the original 9" brakes.

So...back to the drawing board. Isn't it fun figuring out 45+ years of mods from somebody else (sigh....)?

    Appreciate the responses.

I have a 57 cj5 and it has 11 inch brakes all around on it. I bought the wheel cylinders from 4-wheel hardware a few years back and was putting on shoes this fall and found a picture at O'reilly auto parts that matched the shoes I had!! There book showed all kinds of different shoes so I took an old one in to match up!! HTH fdpwr2a

Those are 11x2 brakes from a willys truck or station wagon. They used to be a popular upgrade. My 48 CJ2a has them. Parts are still available from walcks.

It's been a long time, but I believe with those backing plates you can get the new interal setups with the self adjustors. It requires a little cutting of the plates (for the adjustors and such), but memory says they used to do it that way.

The 11" brakes on my A1 are self adjusting....I'm thinking they're from a 60's era Waggy?
