Been reading many articles on the Solex carbs for 4L & F -134 engines. Haven't seen many much on the Solex for the 225 v-6. Would appreciate your advise on if I should be looking at one for the 225 slated for my jeep (my gut is telling me to rebuild the existing 2bbl). Suggestions/thougths???

I've never actually heard of a solex for the 225. What is typical is the rochester 2g and it is a great little 2bbl.

No need to replace the 2G IMO.

Even if the 2g needs to be rebuilt, its pretty easy. I redid the one on achilles and all I did was dip it in parts cleaner overnight and put the new internal parts in. Works good.

If you come over with Jon next time I'll let ya drive it achilles so you can see just what kinda fun your getting into. ;)

    Sorry Bill.

Yup. Stick with the 2G as long as it's still rebuildable. There not made anymore and FLAPS "rebuilds" are usually worse than you took off. :(

If you need a replacement, the Holly 2300 series works great, and a lot of people also use the Motorcraft 6-289.
