Yeah, I know its been discussed before but what I'm really looking for is some photos of a '55 (or close to '55) firewall in "stock" condition. I'll be fixing up Tonkas's firewall soon & what with the donor section being of a different vintage, plus all the extra holes various POs saw fit to add along the way, there's way more flow through ventilation than is strictly necessary :(.

Seperate closeups of the driver & passenger side would be most appreaciated

    Thanks,

    Howard.

I had a similar issue a while back and got some good responses, but unfortunately the photos I saved were on my old computer when it crashed. I plan to take it somewhere to see if they can be retrieved, but it is one of those things that never seems to get done.
    Good luck!

It depends on how bad your old drive is fried but you should be able to plug-n-play it as a "slave" to your new drive. Very easy to do by switching pin settings per the instruction sheet that came with the new drive. I was able to retrieve alot when my old drive melted down a few years ago.

There are 2 holes in the middle section that I have. The one by the pass side is for the speedometer cable, and there is one above the trans cover. Don't know whats supposed to go there, but I have my oil pressure line there.

In this pic it looks like the choke cable goes thru one of the holes by the parking brake. Its just tucked in there to keep it out of the way of the engine. THere are 3 small holes including the parking brake hole. I'm assuming that at least one of them is for the vacum line to the wipers.
