73 Super Jeep queston

Is the super jeep model a collectible jeep? The reason I am asking, I bought one on ebay last month and I really don't care for the white paint job, and am considering painting it another factory color and not putting on the factory style red and blue stripes. However if is desirable as a collector jeep, I might consider taking it back to the original style.

IMO if it were a super-primo time capsule barn find, with original paint, decals and equipment and ridiculously low mileage, then I'd preserve it. A very original Super Jeep would be worth more in that condition than a similar CJ in similar condition.

If not, then I think it depends on what you want. If you like the stripes and color, and you paid extra for them, then by all means keep the stripes. Otherwise, don't.

Someday the Super Jeep may be desirable like the Renegade, or maybe not (I don't think it will). I would certainly document everything very carefully. Take pictures from every angle and make an album. Save any and all documents you might have. The next buyer/owner might want a "real" Super Jeep, and then you will have the evidence that your Jeep was delivered with this package.
