Insalling Warn Lockout hubs

    I want to put warn lockout hubs on a 1960 cj5.It looks like i have to cut the axle.Can i use a cut off wheel and grind flat as possible.It looks like its no big deal.Any feedback would be helpfull. Thanks

    Mmm. I suggest you post in the Early CJ-5 forum, or ask the moderators to move your post there for you. This forum is for 1972 models and later. No big deal, but you'll get more response in the other forum.

    IIRC, you do not need to cut the axle shafts when using the Warn hubs. I have a 66 with a D27 and I did not have to do any mods. I'm pretty sure that all I had to do was put them on and bolt them up. I've read that other manufacturer hubs require mods, but I'm not sure. Hope this helps.

    only very early D25 shafts with the nut on the end need to be trimmed back, cut the threaded portion off that is.
