So I bought this 2a recently,

Right now it is sitting in the barn blocking the combine and grain truck. Decided I better slap it together in to rolling condition before the wheat harvest (early June). Everything is disassembled, nothing is labeled, and I didn't take it apart. My question today is about the threaded shackles. Do the grease fittings point out or in? Does the left-hand threaded bushing go on the spring side or the frame side?

Let me go look at my springs and see if I can figure it out, they're in the scrap pile now.

besides almost rolling a jeep over in my own yard R)
it would appear the normal threaded ones are on the driver side

Can't be. Each shackle has a left and right threaded end. Need to know which threads go on the spring side and which goes on the frame side

"A right-handed threaded bushing cannot be installed satisfactorily after one having left-hand threads has once been installed."

That would explain my want for a 5lb. hammer. Thanks for the info.

just use 2 right side shackles...save the head aches with knowing your left from your right...

I only have what came with it and I am not going to buy anything new until I decide what I want to do with it. Right now I just need it in rolling condition so it is not in the way.
