We have been slowly building some widetrac axles from a CJ7 for our 78 CJ5. They have all chromoly shafts with 760 joints, 4.56 gears, lock right front, a spool in the rear, and rear disc brakes. This is my wife's jeep and she really doesn't want a larger tire than a 33. She might eventually go to a 35 but that would be all this jeep ever gets or I would have swap in bigger axles. For this application, keeping some ground clearance from having smaller axles is probably a good idea. We got the front about finished and swapped under the jeep today. Were waiting on NAPA to get us the other brake rotor. Their warehouse only sent us one rotor. I managed to get the caliper mounts just slightly to close to the rotor so they just barely rub. We're going to have to redo them.

I made my own case spreader. I just use a 2 ton hydraulic jack on the open end of it.

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Wide tracks look real good on that jeep.

We got the old amc 20 rear out this past weekend.

We finished making the caliper mounts and drilled the rotors for larger hole so they would center on the wheel studs. This was a real hold up. Trying to find a 15MM drill bit that someone has in stock is just about impossible. We are waiting on the weather to put the rear under the jeep.
