I think you can get one from the local car parts store. Utilize their tool rental program. Its free! (Well, after you return the tool it is.)

Be careful. Sometimes they come off like a shotgun blast. Be sure no body parts are inadvertently just below the pitman arm!

I usually spray the splines liberally with PB Blaster or Kroil.
    Put on the puller.
    Get if fairly tight.
Put a hammer against the pitman arm close to the splines, and smack that hammer with another hammer. (For some reason, this is said to transfer the shock more effectively than simply striking the pitman arm itself with a hammer.)
Crank a little bit more on the puller, repeat hammer smack.
Repeat until the arm comes off.
It may come off with a bang and considerable force...
Keep your body parts out of the way!

Lynn, something tells me that you have some bruises or scars to prove this.

Thanks for the tip...I'll be removing mine as well pretty soon so I'll remember.

I was fortunate, learned from the mistakes of others. No scars from that particular job.
There are others, however... ;) :D

Good point there by UncleBill, I forgot about that. If you can, leave the nut on the shaft engaged by 3-5 threads. That will prevent the arm from flying (the puller will still probably fly/drop off, but not as forcefully as the arm would)
