Ok, I thought i had this all sorted out and then I brought a new MC home.

The rebuilt MC I just bought is from a '70 CJ5 with a 225. I'm running discs, so I went to pull the RPV from the rearmost brake line port and I discovered that there's no RPV in there, or at least none that I can see.

Has anyone else run into this?

The MC I was using before was supposed to be from a '77 to '86 CJ with drum brakes, but I'm begining to wonder. The one I have has two big honkin' fittings that screw into the MC, and the brake lines screw into those. That made it easy to remove the RPV for the discs, but now it's leaking internally so it's time to change it out.

    Idears fellas?

My replacement for my 71 did not rpv's in it. I added them when I rebuilt my jeep. When I noticed this it finally made since why I had always had to pump the brakes to make them work right.

    Hmmm.

Glad I posted this before I tore a new MC apart looking for something that wasn't there...

    Thanks Mike!

I have run across several setups over time that the rpv's were in the distrobution block... Which was why they were more money than some of the others.
