what do i need?

    ok i need some help. i need a thermostat housing for a 74 cj5 w/ a 232 amc engine. everyplace i have looked or called has them for the early jeeps & the 75 up, and the "knowledgeable" parts associates on the other end of the phone have been no help after a week of searching / talking / hunting / *)%$#ing! thanks!

    RockAuto.com shows a Four Seasons 84815 $10.79 for a '75. Should work fine.

    No listing for a '74 - probably some minor difference, maybe in hose diameter or heater connection.

    Ok, PN for the '74 is 318 9718, and '75-on is 322 4216. I suggest you buy the part for '75-on and see what's different about it.

    You can use the t-stat housing from a 4.0 wrangler as well. You just need to get a plug for the Temp sensor port on the housing.

    it may be a temp diffrence my 75 is a w
    180 and the 75 may be
    A 195. Just a thought.
