225 Buick V-6

    The casting number on my engine is 991503. According to the Buick ID page that puts my engine between 76 and 74. How can I pin it down to the exact year?

    I think I found the answer. I just needed to read the entire page. If the numbers are there, I can't see them yet. Time to sand some on the engine and hopefully find the numbers.

    OK, this is what I have found so far: DPH 1. SO, I know D = Domestic, P = 1968, H = V6-225 9.0 to 1 C.R. (2bbl carb). That leaves me with a 1. There doesn't seem to be anymore. Does this seem like a complete code? What would the 1 represent? The rust and build up is really bad. Thank goodness for dremel tools. Only thing small enough to get in there without taking things apart.
