    rpm vs speed

    i finally got the tach hooked up and with my speedo so far off with the tired i disconnected it. this is what i found out tonight with my friend following me with a cb:

    3rd gear
    1500 rpm=40mph
    1800=45
    2000=50
    2300=60(give or take)

    2nd gear

    1800 rpm=34
    3000= 43 or so

    does this sound right to you guys?
    just an added thought i believ my overdrive is engaged (herm is going to fab me a shifter for my warn overdrive, currently do not have one)

    Ackk! I can't stand it.

    It's RPM not RPM's or RPMs, it stands for Revolutions Per Minute, not Revolutions Per MinuteS!!!!

    Sorry for the rant, pet peeve of mine.

    OMG :rofl: :rofl: That's too funny; I get like that too. How about these:
    ATM machine
    PIN number
    VIN number
    ER room
    ect.

    AAAAAAHHHH!!!
    Thanks for the belly laugh. :D

    Erik, I too have 33s w/ overdrive, and 3rd gear in OD is essentially useless unless I'm going at least 75 MPH. Thus I'm thinking that your OD is not engaged, although I'm not sure of your gearing. 3.73?
