This may be off topic....... What do you guys use to lubricate the zippers on your tops? Plastic and metal....... The rear window zippers on my supertop are looking/ feeling kinda dry. I've already replaced the driver door upper due to zipper failure. I bought some supposed zipper lube; and it works "ok", but it builds up after a while, and the zippers have to be scrubbed out. Any ideas???????

My dad always said rub it with a bar of soap - but I imagine that might build up too. I never tried it.

I use this bike chain lube called ProLink. Its a semiwet lube that seems to work fine. No buid up and lately been getting a lot of rain, then a lot of sunshine and heat. But it does stain the grey side of the top. You can get the stuff at any repectable bike shop.

I've never used anything on the zippers on any soft top I've had. Not saying it's better but I've never had any zipper problems.

Never used anything either was always afraid it would affect the fabric that the zipper was made with. None of you had any adverse affects?

Patrick: I've never used anything either. But, if I was to use anything, Silicone spray would probably be best as it does not remain "wet" to gather dust and dirt.

If the zippers are "dry", an air hose should clean them sufficiently.

Ok, thinking about it, I guess the door window zippers are plastic, but they have smaller, completely different teeth..................
