Will the carriers and gears interchange between the 2 axles? I've been able to track down a bunch of sets of 4.88's and carriers for a Dana 25... Will they fit in a 27? Thanks

Have you tied Randy's Ring and Pinion?
    They list a 4.88 for the 27.

I'd like to know why 12" Jeep brakes are not as common of an upgrade as 11"? Are shoes, wheel cylinders, and other parts for the 12 inchers harder to get, or do they just not work on the 25 and 10 spline 44?

12" drums in 5 x 5 1/2" bolt pattern are non-existant at this point in time
might find some off an early Jeep or IH, but they are rare and even harder to find

I have access to a pair from a full size Dana 44. I havn't yet priced shoes and other parts, but if they will work on the 25 or 10 spline 44, they would be substantially better than 9"ers

59JP, that would be a welcome write-up if you are able and willing to put pen to pad (or fingers to keyboard, lol).
Welcome from NE Ohio, BTW. Got any more pics & details about your rig? :)

They don't have them either... They told me to call someplace in PA, who told me to call some place in NC, who told me to call some salvage yard in VT. They're all out of them. The guy in Vermont said to call back in 2 weeks, he's getting 51 Jeeps in  He said there'd likely be something in there.... If not, looks like 5.38's instead

Are you thinking of George the Jeep, Jim? I tried him a couple of months ago and he didn't have any either. I was sure he would have some, but he said he rarely runs into them. Nice guy to talk to though.
