Steering column clamp packing?

    I did a search and found that the material around the steering column dash support clamp is a welting material. Is it the same as the welting on the hood to grill opening? Can the welting be order by the foot? Where?

    It's just canvas webbing. I had some white webbing 2" wide that I cut to length and dyed black. It was exactly like the "welt" that came off it.:v6:

    Any photos? How many times is the webbing wrapped around the column. Where does it start and stop? I don't have anything to go by.

    In fact this is what I have:

    I am thinking (sure) that the extra bracket is not stock.:D It is nice though.

    It wraps twice ending where it starts so there's no lumps. Looks like I need to dye it again.
