So I bought my jeep about 2 months ago and have been working out the kinks and one being none of the dash lights at night would stay on. Long story short found a few grounds that needed to be tightened up, so once tight and key on fried a few wires bad so thinking of putting in a new harness but not sure what rout to take and would love some advice. Some people are saying painless which is pretty expensive and I found a company on ebay I think its EZ wire for like 175, and I found a company Midwest Jeep Willys that will build me a harness for my jeep for 375 so any help would be great.

    Year/model? CJ-5 I presume.

The CJ-5 harness is pretty simple - I suggest you fix what you have. Not too difficult...

For me , Wiring it from scratch was the easiest.

You add one wire at a time as you go down the circuit list and follow the wiring diagram.

This way, you don't have to play with the spaghetti mess that "painless" kits seem to be when you get it in a big roll.

New wiring was the best upgrade ever. My old 18 ga.wiring was cracked, brittle and burnt.

I got a generic harnes off ebay from a dude that lost interest in a project. It was a hot rod, 12 circuit kit with a key and some other goodies. I plan on mounting the fuse block and letting the wires just sit there and start running circuits, one at a time.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram for a 1975. my problem is the guy I bought it from installed a after market heater and a manual oil pressure gauge, a alarm that went off everytime the key was turned but you could not shut it off because it has no key pad so i just cliped the siren, i didnt even know the thing was on there it didnt go off the day i bought it and there are a few wires just kinda hanging out under the dash.
