Confussed by Axles!

    Could somebody please end an argument between myself and my neighbor. Hopefully I've attached several pictures below of my Axles out of our 1975
    CJ6, I believe they are both Dana/Spicer 44's. My neighbor believes something totally different. Both look the same, But I'll agree with him that it's not normal for a CJ to come with a Dana 44 in the front. Any help would be appreciated.

    the front is a D30, the rear is a 44

    the don't look anyting alike LOL :D

    What parts look the same on them? The front cover is the easiest way to determine the identity of a differential.

    Ok, I'll suck up my pride and tell the neighbor that they are not the same. I can see clearly the front does favor a Dana 30. Guys thanks alot for setting things straight. At least now I can get down to ordering the right parts.

    Remove the covers and you will see that the front axle has much smaller internals than the rear.
