i've noticed that herm's tierods and tierod ends set is reasonably priced compared to places like adv adapt., 4x4, etc. why is that do you think? any one have any experience with them. i realize that they are not for extreme offroad like monsters, etc. but he said that they are offroad and highway rated.

Don't buy tie rods from AA. They're the same TRE as you get through Walcks, etc - they told me so on the phone - and they charge at least 2X the price.

IMHO regular ole replacement TRE's are fine for 99.9% of what your Jeep will see. I've seen bent tie rods, but not a TRE.

Herms stuff is the same as what I have been running on my jeeps. Looking at getting a set from him within the next couple months.

FYI- M38A1s used much stronger 3/4" sized threads on the TREs, if you want to change out your linkages. I agree it's usually the tube bending not the TRE bending.

thanks. i'll check with herm about the size of his. i think i'd like to support him as much as i can.

some times i think it's too bad that kaiser didn't stay with all the mil's specs on the cj's. 'cept for the v6 of course.
