My 13yr. old and I have got a restoration project underway, low cost :) Welllll....low budget anyway. (rebuild 1st, replace if necessary).

Maybe I'll get my own rebuild/progress thread started on of these days.

Just started pulling/cleaning up/tear down of the motor.

Can I replace the filter mat'l in the Valve Cover Oil Cap? Or do I need to get a new cap?

I'd try cleaning it first in solvent. I've cleaned quite a few that way with good results. Make sure it is fully dry before reinstalling. If that doesn't work then a new cap.

Yep, flush it out with solvent, then brake cleaner and let it drain/ blow it out.

Got a cap from autozone it was like 5 bucks, not perfect but it works and looks ten times better.
