It will be a belt. I soaped up the power steering belt first and it quieted down, or so it seemed, but then agai ni didnt rev it like i was dirving it. I went to soap up the alternator belt and the top looked nice and tight, i soaped it up, and then noticed that the bottom part of th ebelt was vibrating madly. I undid the bolt on the latnerator arm so i can more and tighten it up and noticed that the arm was moving freely. Turns out the bolt holding the bottom of the adjsutment arm loosened and came actually off, so the arm was still wedged against the water pump housing and stayed up keeping a little adjsutment, but was letting it be really loose. So I just have to find a new bolt and i will be good to go :) Guess i will have to use locktite now ;)

Well it is fixed. i had to rebend the arm and use a differnt bolt to bolt it to the water pump. I got it all finished and no more squeal. but then of course i have to drive it on the road, but hopefully it should be fine. i really want to drive the jeep to work, but i have to take the truck, any day this week i may have to go out and go fetch my waggie rear axle.

Glad to hear it, Dan! Ya know, you win the award for most Jeep projects completed per year. You seem to start and finish 5 or 6 diffo projects--major ones at that--before I can even get one done. And I don't have wifey, kids, or even job!!
