Steering box is just mounted to the front frame rail, like the usual conversion.

Running a serpentine belt or V? Hardest part for me would be making sure all the pulleys are turning the right way. I'm thinking the XJ steering pump needs to turn clockwise?

it is going to run the serpentine type belt. Not one belt but two. i have the mounts done so i can adjust both belts for tension.

Got the battery tray fabbed up and mounted. Kind of funny the battery i have for the jeep is just about larger than the motor :)

Looks like mine. Same spot, except mine is from a Nissan Sentra.

What no shovel mounted on that hood? :p

unfortunately i dont think the shovel will fit under the hood with this motor. :(

Should fit. That motor doesn't look higher then the stay rods that run from the grill to the firewall. If you had them.
I'm thinking it may hit the master cylinder. Not sure.

I had a similar issue resulting from changing to an intermediate grill. I put bolted a piece of aluminum angel across the firewall and ran the stay bars to it. Let me know if you want a pic.

Post up some pics, i would like to see that. I really wasnt going to put a shovel under the hood, i was thinking about mounting a shovel and axe on the side of the jeep.

Well it is Spaghetti Time for the Jeep. I am going through the Sidekick Wiring harness and removing all that i will not be needing. It didnt take that long, but the worst thing was removing the damn electrical tape and ending up with tarred hands from it :(

Tape ( and this is the second pile)

Here is the stuff not needed.

I pretty much got it all wired up. I still need to run my taillight wiring and figure out if i am going to resocket the original lights or go with after market lights for the rear since mine are way corroded.

I also had to try and "patina" the dash so it matches the rest of the beat up body.

    Original dash i made,
