Knuckle seals and bearings

While perusing another thread about dana 27a knuckles and the like, it was mentioned that the various service manuals covered the seal and bearing installation. Horror of all horror, my haynes manual says this is best left to auto dealer's shops, and has no other information. The setup looks pretty simple to me, but some guidance would help. Can anyone tell me which manual will give a useful description of the process? Since our weekend weather is going in the tank, and I just got all of my parts, I'll need a little garage activity to pass the time for the next few days.

Just the obvious FSM. I can't imagine going on with the jeep without it.

Thanks Jim. I believe this will do.

First, throw the Haynes manual in the garbage and get a repro Jeep Service Manual. I've had a couple of Haynes and they are practically useless for a real shade tree mechanic. Nothing more annoying than having a manual tell you you're not qualified to do the work on your own rig.

Where does one get a decent service manual? Sounds like a great investment. Maybe even a big time saver. Jim's direction to vernco's page will probably do it for this weekend's activities, but there are other projects looming.

Sparky, sounds like a money making opportunity, maybe you should open up the ECJ5 store and start selling them to new members along with T-shirts. :D
