? 42 ww2 running gear

    looking at a 42 ww2 that a guy wants to trade did they come with full floating rear axle or did somebody put it the jeep its a cj2a tub

    They came with a full-floating Spicer 23 rear axle with 4.88 gears.

    do u think the jeep is worthy of a trade of value of 1500 does not run
    needs floor work ive been looking for something to put a v8 in i already have a stock 59 the 42 has all stock running gear with a cj2a tub

    Being a WW2 reenactor and vehicle enthusiast I would say that unless you want to restore it back to WW2 specs then I would pass and find another jeep.

    But thats just me and Im finding out Im a jeep purist. :)

    IF stock it would have a T-84, 27 spline 18 transfer case unique to the WW2 Jeeps, 25 front, and 23-2 ff rear. Remember, these Jeeps had weight limitations on them and were basically considered disposable so while very cool, not the best platforms for a build up. IMHO the CJ would be a better place to start. A bit better running gear to start, stronger frame, more room, etc.
    If you're looking for a restoration then I'd say it could be a great start.

    Value depends on area, condition, how complete, and what YOU'RE willing to pay for it.

    thanks i think ill pass on it , like to v8 my 59 but would be a shame since it runs so good i guess ill wait till the fhead blows
