Well, finally got up the nerve to get the Yokohama's. Discount Tire called me today and I got them installed this morning. Everyone in the shop was commenting on how skinny they were, me too... Anyway, got them all mounted up on the steel wheels and I like em, just what I wanted. Here's a few pictures to compare to the 31x10.5-15's that are on now. Plenty narrow and tall. I'll post some pictures when I mount them on the Jeep. I'll have to wait with the driving report until I finish my other work. I hope they drive as well as the look.

Those should look great mounted on your Jeep. Can't wait to see them. I think I'll hold off on getting some until you report on how they drive.

    What size are those tires?

    They're 7.00R15 8 ply. Pretty tall ain't they.

I think they look great. I hope they drive as well as they look.

I think they would look great on my M416 too...although I think an 8 ply might be too much for it.

Well, 8 ply gives you some height, not a bad thing and you also get the added benefit of a run flat too :)

I don't think they will be a problem driving. Worst case is they'll ride hard, how much harder can they ride in a Jeep? I know they'll make some noise too. I can run minimum air pressure if need be.

Oh I'm sure they'll be fine for the Jeep...I was referring to using them on my M416, which is probably too light for such stiff tires. It would probably bounce like crazy.

Can't wait to hear how they ride.

Actually they're not 8 Ply! I just took a closer look at them because somewhere I remembered reading that they weren't 8 ply. I saw a marking on the tire that said 8 PR and I misread it (the whole freaking tire has information written on it). The load rating is 8 PR which is, I believe equal to 8 ply. In any case it's a stout tire.

Did a quick pit stop and mounted the new (4 ply :) tire/wheels. Looks pretty good to me. The tires are inside the wheel wells ( I took off the flairs) and extra few inches of height looks appropriate too. Gotta work on cleaning up those front hubs, they make my pretty wheels look bad. It's going to be few weeks before I can drive it but I make a full report as soon as I can.

Those look good. 31x10.5s on a narrow rim look real good and gives a little extra height.
