I have a '59 and have tried to document it before I tore it down.

BUT we'll say that the PCV and Vacuum system has been "manipulated" by the PO.

I've dug around quite a bit and need to clarify what I have and where I'm going. The FSM doesn't cover this very well.

    Starting with what I had....
Hard line from the brass fitting in the intake, under carburetor, went to hose, through firewall to (assume) wipers.

Now down at the (absent) PCV. There was a copper line dropped down to NOTHING. Or dirt dabbers depending on how you look at it. :)
I've read on the CJ3B page:
I think I want to put this back "correctly" !!

The vacuum/fuel pump apparently had no connections. (I'm currently rebuilding it.)
But the dirt dabbers were knocked off the Crankcase copper vent lines. R)

    Question/Clarification:
To do this correctly I need,

PCV with at "tee". One side goes to the brass fitting on intake, under carb ? Correct
Should this be hard line all the way? A section of rubber for vibration, maybe?

The other side of the "tee"....Does that go to the vacuum/fuel pump? With the wipers coming off of the other port on the vacuum pump? Just a small section of hard line out of "tee" with a hose on down to the vacuum port ?

    Thanks,

You obviously have two distinct systems.
One is a closed system. (indicated by the PCV valve fitting on the exhaust valve cover)
One is an open system (indicated by the rocker cover breather cap)
Both of these systems are only partly installed onto the engine.
These two crankcase systems are not compatable.

Military and CJ's always used the superior closed crankcase ventilating system.
In fact W/O was the leader concerning closed crankase ventilation technology.

    Ooookaaaaay ?

Since I have the rocker cover breather, and my "closed system" was "open" (with the down pipe)

I guess I should just leave it as an open system, and not worry about the PCV valve, etc ???

What about the fuel/vacuum pump rebuild ?

Should I just get a fuel pump w/o vacuum?

I would think that it wouldn't be all that difficult to install a grommet/plug of some sort in the valve cover to make it into a closed system. Then just run a few lines into a new PCV (I think Kaiser willys sells them), and you will be set. I just did mine recently and it was very simple
