My 1970 cj5 parking brake is located to the far left under the dash with the cable running from the engine compartment under the tub to the trans. case parking brake arm. The fender has been modified to install the headers so now there is no place for the cable to attach to between the dash and the parking brake arm. Does anyone have any pictures or solutions to rerouting or attaching the cable in another way to use the parking brake effectively.

I have mine is attached to fender using a cable clamp or wiring harness clamp - keeps the cable away from headers - do you still have horse shoe clip at the end of parking brake lever . the one under dash

    Ron,
I am not sure what you mean about the horse shoe clips. Here is how i am hooked up now. There is a custom fabricated half round guide attached to the fender that the cable rides in, and the inside of the fender is very flimsy due to having to cut some of it away to make the headers fit. I had to strip all of the plastic coating off of the cable because the header heat had melted the plastic to the half round guide. I am trying to think of a new route for the cable and possably mounting some small custom pulleys that swivel so the cable has a smooth ride. The probem is finding a route that has solid point to attach to.

Mine does run between the header tubes, but it's been that way for, I don't know, 50K miles or more...
