    I am using a Chevy Vortec 4.3 V6 from a 1995 S 10 Blazer for my Jeep.

In the Blazer the engine ran a remote oil filter, near as I can tell it was done to create clearance for the front diff, and drive shaft.

I would like to ditch the remote oil filter setup, and go to a standard spin on filter located on the engine.

Does anyone of you know if this can be done, and if so, what parts are needed.

I am hoping for a simple unbolt the original setup, and bolt on the correct factory pieces.

    Thanks in advance.

Not 100% sure on the Vortec but on the TBI 4.3 and 5.0/5.7 V-8's you can remove the oil cooler parts and put on a spin on filter adapter. Did it on the 5.7 in the '6 project.

That is what I was thinking, but was looking for confirmation.

The only difference in a Vortec is the heads and induction system as far as I know, so the basic block should be the same as the TBI 4.3.

Sounds like time for a little dealer parts run.

    Mike-
I have one out of a 1995 S-10 but it was a 2 wheel drive. It has the filter in the standard location. It does have an adapter on it that the oil cooler line are attached to. That adapter can be removed and the nipple threaded back into the block according to a buddy of mine. I haven't done it yet.
