I'm trying to determine exactly what motor I have .
    Block # behind intake - 1381623 tells me its a 225 ci between 64 & 71
    intake # B-1378704 tells me its a 2 bbl
Now the hard part ,, the stamped # on the right side of the block, on the head mating surface is in pretty bad shape,, it appears to be K N E S ???
Not quite sure what order to read them according to info on this site ,
    thanks for any input, Dan

I wonder the same, have the original engine on a stand with K N H. my service manual says the K=V6-225 7.6 to 1 C.R. 2 Bbl. Carb. N=1967 year built. E= export. S= 1970. H= V6-225 9.0 to 1 C.R. So maybe we can't read the letters correctly or they mean something entirely different.

Yep ,,, thats where I am too. engine is on a stand , I started pulling it apart today , so I can order parts and gaskets . just trying to make sure I order parts for the correct year . The block #s are pretty well pitted ! I tried doin a pencil etching ,, no good , I took some pics from different angles and my wife put them thru a photo program and turned it into a negative image , no good , she then embossed them , better , but not good enough. I'm at a loss , lookin at my #'s again , I might have the same as you, K N H .. 67 ?

Try a little spray brake cleaner or silicone spray on the numbers and wipe off the excess off the raised numbers. Sometimes this will outline the digits with enough contrast to read.

There's a description of block numbers in your Factory Service Manual. You do have a FSM, don't you? :)
