During my tear down I fail to document this item. I just found it hiding in a box. Where does it go? I've crawled underneath trying to match up the holes to something...no joy. I'm thinking it needs to go to my rear crossmember. I just can't figure it out. Anyone out there know???

Part of the exhaust pipe hangers. Goes right above the forward rear spring mount on the driver's side inside the frame rail. Mine is riveted on using the same rivets that mount the body mounts on the frame uses (opposite side of the frame rail). At least that is the way it is on my 1975 CJ5.

Sure will... tonight. I did that 10 years ago. I kinda butchered the inside. But it keeps an honest guy honest. If a guy put a pry on it, it would give...

I originally drilled for two locks, but went I realized I drilled to close to the edge of the door and the latch caught on the door channel and had to hack it to make it work I went with one.

I was sick the next day after the hack job, should of measured twice...

Thanks for the pics. So if i understand you right you drilled to close to the front on the lid and that is why you had to mod the lip? So if i just set it a little further back i would mot have not have any problems. I wonder if I could get a lock from somewhere like what Tuffy uses in their consoles?

Ya, it sat on that vertical edge. IIRC I put the custom bend in the lip of the latch to get beneath the whole edge. I also drilled into the rubber seal a little too. I should of cracked the beers AFTER I was done.
