Throw out Bearing

Well I finally saved up enough money to get a new top for the jeep. Got around to getting my Summitt heater in it, new top with the plans of driving it much more.

Now the throw out bearing, (at least my best guess) is making a horrible howling noise when you push on the clutch. Sometimes it makes the noise, and sometimes not. Although it is making the noise more now than not. If you let out the clutch it stops. The clutch is not slipping and it is shifting fine. The pedal feels good.

Any ideas? Any recommendations on where to get a new throwout bearing? How is the easiest way to replace this?

    Thanks for your wisdom.

Depending on the age/shape the clutch is in, might be a good time to do the whole shebang while you're in that far. Disc, plate, T.O. bearing, pilot bushing and surface flywheel. If it's just the bearing that's bad, I would make darn sure the new one is adjusted properly so you don't have another premature failure. Just my thought.
P.S. no "easiest way" to do it. Gotta pull trans and transfer-case to get to the culprit, hence a good time to do it thoroughly as it's not a simple task like changing a fuel pump, etc.

Ditto. Do it all while you are in there. With luck you will never have to do it again.

Thanks for the advice. I will give rock auto a try. I have heard good things about them. Are there different styles of throwout bearings or can I just tell them the year? I ask this because the paperwork from the Previous owner shows that the Clutch was replaced, not many miles ago.

If this was indeed the case, you should be able to get by with just a new bearing. You should be able to tell by what condition the disc is in and I would certainly be removing the pressure plate to check it out. Would appear to be a case of improper adjustment letting the bearing ride on the fingers. Check the fingers carefully because allowing the bearing to ride on them can wear a nice groove-to the point where you will want to replace most of the assembly.
