Now I just need an extra hand or two taking the rear part of the tub off and standing it against the wall.

It will eventually be a trailer, once I have an extra $2,000...

I just couldn't wait.... Tub is off and back is out but at least I can say the tub is off! :D
Exhaust will be tomorrow and maybe, maybe, maybe the rear drive line and bumpers.
I think I will end up stripping down to the frame and getting it sandblasted/painted.

Gas tank, skid plate, fuel lines, and exhaust off.
Tomorrow maybe the rear drive line. Bumpers will stay on for now.
Can't wait to take that engine off.

Oh boy, yeah... that's a lot of reads! :stout::stout::stout:
Well, done working on the jeep, time for a nice relaxing strong drink and smoke.
Hope the Jeep doesn't end up downing as much "fuel" as the owner when I get done. :)

I lied a bit, my neighbor has an '83, 140k on the clock, all origional except the webber carb, electric lockers and 4:1 transfer case gears, 1 piece axles and DUI distributor.
Other than the everpresent rocker arm cover leak and 2 attemps at repairs, the motor is stock.
Even at 7k it struggled to pass emissions in CO.

I'm confortable with the '46 to '71 stuff and disavow any knowledge about how any of that stuff got into his Jeep.
    ;)

No work tonight. I'm beat and broke til payday. Next purchase is for Rich at R&P 4WD to outboard my shackles, move my rear body mounts, and reinforce my rear crossmember. Can't wait..... Neither can the wallet. :p

I thought about it but until I sell these saw blades, drills, reamers, end mills, taps, and grinders, I will be slow to work on the jeep. ;)

Don't think I was very smart when I tried to do this but jacked my engine up and unbolted it only to rest it on the floor jack and mounts. I was hoping to lower it to the ground with the jac but I don't think I thought it through to well. Now it's still sitting there and I will wait to borrow a hoist. I just am a little skeptical about lowering it down at this point because I don't want to hurt myself or break the concrete; I don't care too much about the block.

Engine is off. Thank you "imadoughball" for the offer to come help take it off. Just let the jack down and it came down quickly and safely without any damage. I was shocked but I think my jack is, well, "jacked up".

My Jeep fund will soon have some money put into it (by the Mrs.) and Rich at R&P will have my chassis for his artistic welding.;)

All in all, I can't wait to start the assembly, the garage is really looking like crap. On that note, anyone need any parts? Just let me know what you need, everything is being replaced on this beast.

    Well, time to relax. :stout::stout::stout:

No work today, my other car (a stupid Land Rover) had the battery die. Now, it is stuck in "limp mode" and the rear window is permanently down until I get the codes reset at the dealership.... I really regret buying a Land Rover, especially a used '03 one with 120k on the dash at the time.... I need an XJ or as my wife says, a nice fine Toyota. The Land Rover's should have stopped at the series 1, 2, & 3's. Anybody want an expensive lawn ornament?

I will get working on the jeep again soon. Buying my BDS springs so I can get the shackles out-boarded and body mounts moved then off to sandblast and finally reassembly I say it like it is weeks away but it's more like a month or two.

No posts in a while due to financial contraints and working on a few other projects (reupholstery of my Great Grandma's chair and some wife's stuff. The new front axle is back from R&P 4WD and is BEAUTIFUL!! It has 4.27 gears, flat top knuckles (will eventually convert to high steering), ARB, and just everything all around awesome. The old axles are in the driveway ready to be picked up by the buyer tomorrow and the frame will soon be stripped of all excess stuff (brake lines & steering) to prep for outboarding and paint. This should be fun. Be ready for assembly posts in a few months!
