Here are the wheels in question. Daryl advised me that the dull one shown was only serviceable as a spare. All the other 4 are good to run.

Different generation by my F250 aluminum wheels do not have shank style lug nuts. Just big acorn type.

I never saw the snow, just the mini skirt. It does look like Toledo though. Toledo Loves Jeeps is coming up Aug 13th, 800 Jeeps registered for the event, I brought my Tux home for it.

I did some test testing before mounting my tires and determined that these wheels would work with standard 60 degree tapered lug nuts. I measured the lug holes and looked at many manufacturers drawings before making my determination. Originally I thought that I would need an ET style lug nut, but my lug holes were .605 and the smallest diameter 1/2" ET style nut was .62.
Got them mounted and balanced on Sat, the worst one was 1.5oz off. :)

We all have Daryl to thank for providing us with the following....

Hello all , ive been lurking for a bit catching up on some interesting info regarding renegade wheels , I bought this 71 factory photo off e-bay showing the brand new 1971 renegade II shod with these aluminum wheels . Has anyone come across these wheels before ? The interesting part for me is that years ago I bought a large inventory of nos jeep parts from my local jeep dealer in northern ny . In this stash of parts there were 5 brand new aluminum wheels , no part numbers were attached and very little on the wheels themselves , I just liked the looks and assumed they were aftermarkets some one ordered for there jeep . Then this photo came to my attention and got my wheels to spinning so to speak ! Looking through my early seventies jeep parts manual I see that there appears to be a ' spirit wheel ' listed , just wondering if these could be another optional wheel which appears in the factory photo release ,

Those are what we call "D" slots, only used on Rll's. Those are a bit harder to find than the oval slot alloys used on the AMC intermediate Renegades.

That is a beautiful Jeep, even without the girl on the bumper.

I believe that you are correct. I am pretty sure that these are off an intermediate.

Norcal69, are you referring to the D Slots (pic I posted)? These are the style used on the RenegadeII (1971 - Early CJ).
The Suburbanite tire (spare) I posted has two thin whitewall stripes as do the tires shown on the factory pic of the Renegade II's
Keep in mind that factory photos often are produced well in advance of production and these vehicles can have differences from consumer vehicles.

I was quoting Keys5a. My wheels are the later intermediate mags.

I'm putting these on my 57. I parted out a 75 Renegade that I got form the guy that purchased it new. I will check them for markings tonight. They appear to be the same kind that Norcal69 has

Another picture of a 1971 Renegade II with D Slot wheel and O.E.M. twin line w/w . I took this pic a couple years back and just noticed it still has the original spare tire 1971 renegade and 2014 deer hunt 007.JPG

Did you get a chance to check on any identification on your wheels. I am trying to ID a set of 15x7 slot mags w/ # 3153612 and "forged" they have 4" B.S. and are 5 on 5 1/2 bolt circle. Seem to be close to a intermediate cj but need to confirm some specs. thanks ,mike

Sorry I didn't get back on this. I did look for markings, there was no name but there were numbers and now I can't find my note. They do have about 4" of back spacing as I have to use a 1/4" spacer to clear my disk brakes(76/77 thick rotors Ford calipers).

I've got one still mounted on the Renegade 2 stationary mount on my 71. I'd be happy to let it trade hands if whoever buys the heep doesn't want it/low balls me too much...

Dumb Previous owner traded the other 4 for plain black AR rims....

Never saw the back or source of that picture before.
Been trying to ID these wheels for years and locate a source. Hopefully they were not one-offs for the 71 Detriot Auto Show.

It would be nice to see a high resolution scan of that pic. I tried zooming in and while not clear I was curious if that was a mock-up of some "special wheels" yet to be manufactured.
The raised rib around the holes indicates a cast center and machined outer rim (or plastic overlay?). The visual I get from the pic is more like a halibrand wheel.
Surely an advance press release photo.
The phrase "many custom performance features" is interesting, referring to the wheels, stripes, roll bar, upholstery, springs and gauges?
