What To Do with the Bow Sockets

I appreciate the input. I only thought the electric path stuff could happen between steel and alumininum..etc.

Here's the deal. I live in West Michigan. We expect three things - death, taxes, and rust. Especially on stuff that gets driven in winter, as this Jeep will get occasionally.

SSDutch has rust already - major sections of floorboard repaired by welding new over old.

I'm going to do what I can to mitigate it - like find a way to seal the spaces between old and new metal, and use POR or Eastwood stuff over the entire undercarriage.

I had these steel corners on Dutch for 4 years, and there was no sign of rust on them when I pulled them off. The fronts and backs were painted, and I had roofing tar over the rust they covered, and yes used Stainless hardware but had plastic washers under the heads.

Bottom line - I'll have to deal with rust eventually, and in healthier doses than what's gonna happen on the corners.

If I dont run them I have 14 holes to fill and a decent 6" crack to fix (plus weaken the passenger side more by cutting the gas-fill hole) and I dont do bodywork. I have no budget to pay for someone else to do bodywork, and I have the corners on hand.

It basically comes down to being "Dutch Decision"... A little paint and all those issues go away.....

Now what to do about those bow sockets....
