Tera-Low is in. I drove it down the street in 2-low last night. I can literally get out and walk around it while it is idling down the road. R)

Cant wait to get it on the trail and see how it performs. Crawl is now 91:1 and with the 35" tires approxiamtely 1.2 ft/sec at idle.

The only one available for a Dana 20 from TeraFlex. 3.15:1

    3.15 t-case * 6.32 (t-18a First gear) * 4.56 axles = 90.78 low gear.

Sweet!!! I still really like mine with the tera gears. It feels almost perfect for trail riding. I just wish I could have gotten it out more this past summer.

After running Tellico last time in mine I think my ratio is actually too low. I cruised the whole trail in 3 low, just to keep from running into the guy in front of me. I'm guessing on an obstacle the lower would be better but the typical trail I'm just too low in 1st and I don't think I'm as low as you are.

Before the tera-low, I was at 58:1. There were occasions when I would have liked to have a lower gear. I dont mind driving around in 3rd if it gives me the ability to go slower when its needed.

Before I had 5 effective gears between high and low range. By effective I mean no duplications. There were 3 duplicate gear ratios in stock form.

With the Tera-Low there are 7 effective gears and only one duplication. This gives me a much better choice in the right gear for the job.

I would like to get close to where you're at in respect to gearing. My 1st challenge is getting the T-18A installed, then the Tera gears. I'm currently in search for the shorter input shaft kit for the T18A.

Dan, I went through a buddy of mine who ownes a 4x4 shop here in Dallas. because I am a long time customer and he was doing the install, I got it for a little less then I have seen them online but not enough to justify the shipping from here.

I did help him with the install and could do it myself know that I have seen what has to be done. I have learned an awfull lot by helping him work on all kinds of rigs.

I hope to do the same this winter. Could you give some details on the rest of your setup? Items such as Lift, rear driveshaft, etc.?

Lift is Custom: 4.5" Rubicon Express 2.5" wide springs. Checkout the wrangler spring swap article in the tech section of the site. http://www.earlycj5.com/tech/SpringsShocks/yjconv/index.shtml

When I rebuilt the suspension I pointed the pinion of the rear axle up to compensaet for the extreme axle angle.

The rear driveshaft is a custom Dual Cardin unit I had built. You have to have the suspesntion finished so you get an accurate measurement for the driveshafts.

I am running a wide track Dana 30 front axle with the narrow track 30 spline 44 rear. I use spacers to bring the rear out to wide track width.

A lot oh my information can be found here:
