    Didn't know they built John Deere parts, but Ross Gear is now a division of TRW and is still in business. We have a plant in Lebanon, TN that makes steering gears for heavy trucks and semis.

    Thankfully the ones for semis are power recirculating ball units! :)

    I saw a dump truck the other day that had a steering setup that looked similar to a ross judging by what I saw. My mouth dropped and I wished I could have snapped a pic or two just so I could study it when I had time.
