I searched the boneyards until I found a Datsun (Not Nissan) pickup from the early to late 70's. The heater unit is about 9" x 12" x 7" it fit on the firewall, behind the dash. I used a hole saw for the heater lines and mounted the slider controls under the bottom of the dash. It has a 2 speed motor that with the soft top on it blows hot or melt the feet. The unit has 2 defrost vents and the flapper for the floor. I paid $20.00 for the unit and a few more buck for the hose. I covered the passenger side defrost vent and ducted the drivers side to the center duct in the windshield. The only then is that I don't have a fresh air vent being a `62 CJ5, it pulls air firom inside the cab. With the V8 Chevy under the hood, the windshield clears in about 5- 10 minutes from 30 degrees. I have an aluminum radiator with a 170 degree stat.
