Jeff, any stud gun that you would suggest? At this time, I only have household current in the barn but I suppose I could plug into the dryer socket with some modifications. Thanks!

Mine says H&S 4550. Had it for years. Don't remember it being that expensive. Had it for 20 + years. I have used it a lot.
    It's 110V. Works pretty well.

Harbor Freight is the one company that has really uped their game.
Got a tool cabinet they were discontinuing the color. Saved over $ 400.00.
Also been using the Bauer portable bandsaw and 20V drills and impacts.

More obsolete antique jeep parts destined for PeteL's crushing recycling facility (AKA...destroyer, hater of reched, soiled, squalid and smelly jeep parts) and is currently on the way to the hills of New Hampshire as we speak.

Photo is missing another nice starter and a few distributors but in all seriousness, tucked away safely in the barn...Plenty of nice spares for when time and money permit. I'll do this right at some point. These generators are at least 40 pounds each!

Oh, a couple of 24V fans in battleship grey came in the crates. No doubt from the navy. Too big to use in the build but still quite interesting.

Battleship fans. Too cool. A friend at church inherited his grandfather's fan he had in his rock shop. He was restoring it being over a hundred years old. Went to the USS North Carolina Battleship and they had some on the ship. The guy working there gave him some wick for the oiling and told him the formula for special oil for lubricating them. Watching this project closely. Your making good progress. This Jeep is in better shape than most of the M38A1's I've tackled.

The fans make me recall how all the jeeps used for snowplowing, back in their day, always had an add-on fan in the cab to keep the windshield de-fogged.

Don't you dare crush those parts. I know where you live!

I have not seen any in my area. Someone had pulled them and put a 12 one wire alternator on mine. Will have to pull everything when I get to the place of restoring. Need a closed garage to tackle this jeep.

I hear you. Not ideal to take on this project in a non-heated barn but at least it's more or less dry. Cold. More drive to get this running than facility and dollars! I'll get to the proper 24v when the planets align.

So blalp! and I plan to pull the tub in the morning. I don't want to but it's the responsible thing to do. The metal should be protected and painted beneath. Much easier to do now rather than procrastinate. Stay tuned and I promise plenty of pics!

OK, Shaun (blalp!) and I did the deed today, taking off the body. It was easier to take a quick video rather than deal with lots of text and pics. More tomorrow...shower and dinner time. Pete
